Hi guys and gals,

I need an easy FTP server for backing up files.

I am using Fedora 17.

Please tell me how to set up an easy server, with user and anonymous login.

Firewall ports are already configured for this.

you can follow fedora 17 documentation guide :

sudo yum install vsftpd or sudo dnf install vsftpd

P.D : anonymous_enable — When enabled, anonymous users are allowed to log in. The usernames anonymous and ftp are accepted.

The default value is YES. so is enable by default.

I recommend vsftp (Very Secure FTP):

yum install vsftpd

Then edit /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf and read the comments there. It's well documented. Nice example setup can be googled very easily:

Good luck!

The manual is legacy, because of systemd.
