i am having difficulty in upgrading from fedora 22 to fedora 23. i have followed all the leads that i found out there including this : https://fedoramagazine.org/upgrading-... and http://www.tecmint.com/upgrade-fedora... but my laptop still boots into fedora 22. i wonder if maybe its because i am using a 32bit laptop. so is fedora 23 compatible with 32bit machines. my previous upgrades using fedup all worked well without any problems. can somebody please shed some light for me

Fedora 23 is available for 32 bit PC's, no worries here.

So, it didn't start the upgrade process after issueing sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=23 followed by a sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot? What were the feedbacks from these commands?

all those commands run without any problems and when it boots up it will say performing a system upgrade but from there on it goes back to fedora 22

I had a similar issue when I upgraded from Fedora 22 to Fedora 23.

To download Fedora 23 I used the suggested command:

sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=23

It downloaded everything, but after the reboot nothing happened.

So I tried:

sudo dnf system-upgrade download --allowerasing --releasever=23

That made it download everything, remove old stuff and install the new and shiny Fedora 23.

Be aware that this may remove packages (most likely from third party repos) - so on a productive system you may want to study the packages that are going to be removed.

just tried with --allowerase option but it says unrecognised arguments --allowerase. find below the out put of the command. unfortunately can not paste the whole error message cause it goes beyong the maximum allowed characters

oops just realised that its supposed to be allowerasing not allowerase

Oops, sorry for that typo. Hope it worked with the correct flag. :)
