I recently did a fresh install of Fedora 18, and as with previous versions I grabbed an rpm for libdvdcss (in this case the one from Remi over on rpmfind since I couldn't seem to find one on the rpmfusion repository)...

I can't make it work using vlc (or any of the other dvd players).

Has something changed with Fedora 18 or am I neglecting something obvious?

thanks, d

It would seem that DVD playback isn't functional in gstreamer1 yet, so by extension, doesn't work in fedora 18's version of totem at the moment either.

Once, libdvdcss is installed, other movie players work, including dragon and vlc (I just tested both).

you can install from here :

  • install remi repo
  • Install libdvdcss rpm package:

    yum --enablerepo=remi install libdvdcss
