Fedora video codecs [closed]

I have followed all the instructions to download codecs but most show error results. As for vlc it does not exist in the software nor at terminal command. Funny thing, my previous Fedora 14 played videos without a problem...out of the box!

Many video codecs, especially the most popular ones (like h264), are patented so it's hard to believe that they worked out of the box in F14. Which instructions did you follow? You should use RPM Fusion ( ).

OpenH264 from Cisco is now included in Fedora 24 at no cost for end-users. See here.

The other codecs can be installed from RPMFusion (F22, F23) or unitedrpms (F23, F24). Have you found and read this post ?

first update your system. Then follow the instruction from here
