F22 Bad update kernel 4.4.13 breaks OVS and libvirt

asked 2016-06-22 06:56:21 -0500

I ran the recommended GUI update which included Kernal 4.4.13-200 update on a functioning F22 system and OVS and libvirt stopped working. Booting the earlier kernel 4.4.12-200 seems to allow OVS to work but libvirt still seems broken. The first error related to libvirt reads "failed to connect to monitor socket: No such process"

Any suggestions?

I have made some progress by down grading xen-libs from 4.5.3-6.fc22 to 4.5.0-8.fc22 and booting the previous kernel 4.4.12-200.fc22.x86_64.

Now both openVswitch and KVM function OK with virtual machines operating nominally.

If I reboot with kernel 4.4.13 the openvswitch doesn't start and this seems to break KVM such that no VM's can start.

The next thing is to workout why OVS doesn't work in 4.4.13.
