How to change the mouse speed

Hi! I just recently switched to fedora (the xfce spin) and it is great! I have one problem though; how do I change the mouse cursor's speed? (not the acceleration or anything, just the speed). I have tried the command

xinput --set-prop "SteelSeries Kana Gaming Mouse" "Device Accel Constant Deceleration" 5

but it doesn't seem to do anything?

I have a Steelseries Kana mouse, I'm on f24 and kernel version 4.6.3

Thanks!

if you installed from scratch it's most likely that you're using libinput through xorg-x11-drv-libinput. That driver uses a different acceleration method and the property you're trying to set isn't initialized.

If you need to slow down the mouse by a factor 5 that suggests that the mouse has a significantly higher DPI than the standard mouse. This should be adjusted for in the hwdb so that the baseline is the same.

See http://who-t.blogspot.com.au/2014/12/... and https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libin...

Now, to answer your question. You can use the Mouse and Touchpad application under Settings to adjust both the acceleration and sensitivity under Xfce, but I don't think you can directly change the speed.

Yea, that's also what I concluded :-) But is there a way to configure this through the CLI?

You might want to try asking this at the Fedora Forum in their hardware board. This will get you to a different group of helpers and somebody there might know the answer.
