mmm The correct way to install rar is:

Enable & install RPMfusion:

su -c 'yum localinstall --nogpgcheck'

su -c 'yum -y install unrar'

Bonus 7zip support

su -c 'yum -y install p7zip p7zip-plugins'

@vijayan That means you've already got it and can move on to the next step.

xarchiver probably doesn't support it. Just install file-roller

yum install file-roller

(then you can remove xarchiver)

edit: bonus tip: You can use unrar directly from the command line, for instance

unrar e myfile.rar

Its command-line options you find with

man unrar

It says on the xarchiver front page that RAR is supported.
