I can see how to install other software from the list that comes up in the add/remove mode, but is there a way I can point it toward the Open Office for linux that I have downloaded? I am used to that one and would prefer to have it loaded if possible. I have other things on disc that I would like to load too if I can. Never having used anything but Microsoft before, I am still trying to find my way around it.

What is the extension of the file that you downloaded? If it was an .rpm, then you can double-click it from any file manager, and it should open with the yum gui.
