Fedora 16 not sensing wifi card

So I started using Fedora at 14 and used preupgrade to upgrade to 15, then 16. I didn't really have problems until I tried installing gnome 3 shell extensions. After this, whenever I log into the account I did this on, blue bars appear next to the background. If I logged out and logged in again, I got a "an error has occurred, log out" warning. After a while I just alt f4'd out of it. This is all just for that one account. Then, more recently, the wireless internet has stopped getting sensed, on the whole computer. I am using a Rosewill internal wifi card. I know it is not a hardware malfunction because when I booted a liveusb (this one happened to have backtrack) and it had no problems connecting to my wifi. Any ideas? I have gotten to the point where I might just back up/copy the contents of the computer onto an external hard drive and installing either a clean version or just another OS. Anybody have any ideas?

There are known glitches in the gnome-shell-extensions. Try removing them all and installing the one by one. This will tell you which one is broken.

After the upgrade, have you cleaned up your system? http://fedoraunity.org/Members/fenris02/postupgradecleanup. Try that to start with.

Try creating a new user and see if the issue persists. The clean up is suggested after an upgrade. A clean install is the most preferred method though. Make a separate /home partition, it makes clean installs a breeze.
