I am having issues printing to my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw; I'm running Fedora 25

I installed hplip-3.16.11 and everything seems to have installed fine, and I setup my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw. I am running it on Fedora 25. When I try to print, the queue will say "processing" and then it will say "stopped". When I pull up the HP Device Manager my printer is listed, and I am able to pull up the printers web page in a browser. From there I am able to print reports, so it will print. I'm not sure what is, either blocking it or not setup correctly so that I can print from anything.

Thanks for your help, John

since you can see the webpage in the browser, try setting a static ip for the printer, the problem may have to do with the auto ip searching that the printer does. You should be able to get to the network settings from the web interface. You might also config your routerd to use dhcp reservation, so it give the printer the same IP, in case you can not set a static from the printers web interface.

I set the printer with a static ip address. I rebooted both the fedora machine and the printer. That didn' t seem to resolve the issue. In experimenting with the issue, I found that I can scan from the printer to the computer using xsane. Again, it seems to be communicating with the printer, it just doesn't seem to be able to print. Any other ideas?

Were you by chance, logged as root, when you installed hplip? did you get it from the hp web site, or the dnf install? log in as root, try to print, and if it works, then root owns the queue file. if that is the case, remove and reinstall hplip as a normal user.

My user is in the wheel group and that is the user that I used to install hplip. I got hplip from hplipopensource.com .

only other suggestion, go to hp website and download hplip. I am not sure what else to have you try.
