Hello,

Is this chipset is supported out of the box on latest Fedora?

I had some issues with rtl8192ce(latency,disconnects) and I am thinking to buy a new wireless adapter with 8811au chipset.

Thanks

Feedback :

I've bought an adapter with rtl8812 chipset. Although it doesn't work out of the box, compiling the firmware is really easy following this blog post http://dustymabe.com/2016/01/24/802-1... .

Overall performance is also very good.

If have an rtl8192ce and never had any problems on Fedora until I became affected by the recent kernel bug in the 4.9.x kernels. My current solution is to boot a 4.8.x kernel until the problem is solved upstream - or I may compile my own kernel module from here.

In case you don't want to wait or give the alternative driver a try, I would recommend you to buy an Intel-based WiFI adapter. They are generally much better supported. (No closed or proprietary driver code).

this work for all rtl chipset but, whenever new kernel is installed the, extraction, make all & make install steps have to be re-performed.
