I'm using Chromium 55.0.2883.87, from the official repository, and can't play mp3 or H.264 with the browser, despite adding the library libffmpeg.so I tried with both the version from the ubuntu package chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra55.0.2883.87-0ubuntu1.16.10.1330 amd64 and from the website https://www.complete-solutions.net/?p=2 According to cat /proc/ /maps, the library is loaded.

You got it from RussianFedora-fixes repo:

 chromium x86_64 1:56.0.2924.87-1.fc24.R russianfedora-fixes-updates 31 M
 chromium-libs x86_64 1:56.0.2924.87-1.fc24.R russianfedora-fixes-updates 43 M
 chromium-libs-media-freeworld x86_64 1:56.0.2924.87-1.fc24.R russianfedora-fixes-updates 2.1 M

I installed these repos with:

dnf install --nogpgcheck http://mirror.yandex.ru/fedora/russianfedora/russianfedora/fixes/fedora/russianfedora-fixes-release-stable.noarch.rpm
