I have a new install of fedora 25 on a old Dell e5410. I can connect on my home wifi and wired. On my work network however - I cant connect. So I guess this must be something about the way our network is configured. But all other computers can connect without problem.

How should I proceede?

dmesg | grep eth

Returns among other things:

tg3 0000:0b:00.0 enp11s0 renamed from eth0

ifconfig enp11s0

enp11s0:flags=4163<UP, BROADCAST,

Thanks in advance

did you use a static ip or anything static? make sure its configured DHCP. Also verify with your job that you are allowed to plugin anything.

I am allowed to plugin a computer. I thought Ip adresses was assignes automatic. It works on every other computer I have plugged in to the network.

I don't know your network so that is why I'm asking. So from the output above the int is not getting an IP or anything. is their lights on the port? have you tried another port? have you tried restarting it? you might have to get your IT department involved.

I installed debian instead. And had no problem. Thanks for trying to help though.
