Hi all,

After going through this thread openclose-port-on-fedora-25-server/ and applying this

firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=7777/tcp

and checking in the Terminal it is Enabled, but when checking on grc.com 'shields up' the port is closed and this is evident when using the program that requires the port to be open.

Can you help me in getting the port Open?

Thank you

usually this is the quickest way to get it working: sudo firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=7777/tcp --permanent

sudo firewall-cmd --reload

Hi, thanks for your answer. I've tried it and I'm still getting a closed port.

Both commands when run, returns a Success result.

My router is set with port forwarding, when enabled, port 7777 shows as being Closed in the grc.com probe test. If I disable port forwarding on the router and run the test again, the port shows as being stealth so it looks like it's something on Fedora?

I've tried it on a different service port and the same thing happens.

What can I check on Fedora?

Thanks

you should try telnet "hostname" "port" use nmap use nc to find if the ports are open. You can run netstat -tulpn to see what ports are open and listening. I can only help with the fedora part since troubleshooting your network will be too complicated. I would not use the site you listed and use this commands.

I did another reboot and that seemed to do the trick for some reason.

Port is now open, thank you very much for your help.

TT
