Your question is supposed to be answered by the official documentation:

1GHz or faster processor

1GB System Memory

10GB unallocated drive space

My personal opinion is that this information is not correct, referring to the default installation (Fedora Workstation with Gnome). Running Gnome on Fedora, I would recommend at least:

  • 1GHz CPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 15 GB unallocated drive space (incl. 4 GB for swap) (does not include space for personal data files)

If you are looking for a pleasant experience, you better have

  • 4 GB
  • 25 GB drive space (2 GB swap)

But as always: It all depends on your usage!

If you are looking for a solution of Fedora on an older machine, consider one of the less demanding Fedora Spins with other DEs such as XFCE, LXDE, Hawaii,...

In my experience, the CPU GHz number is quite irrelevant for this because there exist both pretty slow CPUs that run at over 2 GHz and easily sufficient ones that are close to 1 GHz. My laptop for example has a 1.3 GHz Core2 CPU and it is still just fine for a default workstation installation.

I agree - so let's change that back.

What's the command for this?

ssr gravatar imagessr ( 2017-06-08 05:05:34 -0500 )edit

to produce that output the command is inxi -Fxxx and i redirected to a text file using >textfilename.txt at the end of the line. if you run inxi -Fwxxx it will include the current local weather information also.
