Please elaborate. What needs to be modified? Did you patch conky to work in Gnome3? Show your solution to the others!... How colud this be marked as the correct answer if there is no answer at all?

There are a lot of conkyrc files that work well in Fedora 17 and Gnome 3. For example this one: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Revolutionary+Clock+%28+Conky+%29?content=151215. So you were asking about a particular conkyrc config file and not Conky as a package...

Conky works the same on Fedora as any other Linux distribution. Use Google to find conkyrc scripts. Here is a link that I found via Google.
