is there a way to search fedora packages and info online?

This facility would help, if one who wants to quickly find availability of software for fedora from an easy-to-use web interface or if one is not on a fedora system (hence can't use yum).

Yes , there is such website and gives a lot more info,like owner of the package,latest builds,versions for different releases,sync with upstream etc.
