Hi all,

I am new to gnu-linux environment so i would be grateful if you guys would help me

I use GNOME desktop (Fedora 25). Recently i had to change my desktop manager from gdm to lightdm with following commands : sudo dnf install lightdm lightdm-gtk, sudo systemctl disable gdm.service, sudo systemctl enable lightdm.service

After reboot system hangs after login to gnome shell. i can see my gnome desktop(only wallpaper appears), mouse is displayed and i am able to move the mouse. But i can not click on anything and ctrl alt f() doesn't work.

However before gui login, ctrl alt f() works and If i use terminal login then gui login everything works fine but i would like to login with 1 try while using gui

Best regards,

I think its because of your gpu driver, add nomodeset in your grub as a kernel parammeter to use basic graoghic mode. And tell me if it works

Martin26 is right. Problem is related to gpu driver ( i use nvidia gtx 960m ).

For my case solution is :

press e when boot menu appears then find the line starts with linux then find rgb quiet after quiet add nouveau.modeset=0 and press ctrl-x to continue.

Best regards,

You are in a right place. Sorry for the latency, my fedora is died and I'm trying to rescue it. I have another problem with my gpu driver. i tried to install another nvidia driver and I fucked it. I love linux mint driver manager and hope to be added to dear fedora.
