Hey, half a year ago i decided to try fedora after my Ryzen could not handle Ubuntu.

Everything worked fine until today when I shut it down and agreed for some updates. when i turned it on again it loaded like everything was nkrmal but then when the desktop login screen was supposed to be shown it just hangs and flashes the black screen forever. strangely it shows the mouse pointer and i can move it.

i thought it was maybe driver issues so i removed all my nvidia drivers through the safe mode by doing

dnf remove \*nvidia\*

but now it hangs after displaying the [ OK ] Started Hostname Service

When i tried to reinstall the drivers through safe mode it says "Failed to synchronize cache for repo updates "

i dont have a clue if its even a driver issue... kind of lost here.

sorry for not formatting, wrote this through my cell

if you removed nvidia, what did you go back with? did you unblock nouveau from grub and blacklist.d? if you can Ctrl-Alt-F2 to a console terminal, login as root and do lsmod to see what is loading, put the output in your question.

when you live install 26, it uses nouveau. it does not work well with certina nvidia cards. when it boots, hit e on the grub menu, put nomodeset in front of the quiet on the linux command line. hit ctrl-x to start and you should have al low res gui to use, to install nvidia driver. I run proprietary, and dkms to update kernel modules automatically. if you want to run that, I will post the steps in an answer

I haven't disabled anything, and the installation went smoothly, should I be worried anyway?
