fedora 20 ethernet wired connection not working?

asked 2017-09-12 22:24:00 -0500

Hi, I've recently built a computer using a Gigabyte motherboard and fedora 20 operating system. When I plug in an ethernet cable no lights on the router light up and Fedora says I'm not connected.
I've tried getting some wireless adapters to work instead but I'm having driver issues. I really would prefer to get the wired connection to work. Please help, Thanks

Post output of inxi -Nxx. Why are you using such old version of Fedora? 25 and 26 are currently supported.

Always use the latest version (if it's possible for you), New kernels supports wide range of hardware.

Maybe the kernel modules for you board are not supported on Fedora 20, you add them if you know what drivers you need do lspci | grep net and post the output here so we can help you. Bet will be if you update to Fedora 26.
