I have a printer Canon MX520 which is detected from my Fedora 25 laptop over Wifi. I'm able to print one document correctly.

But when I want to print a second document, the printer is not responding.

A look in the journal gives me this error every minute:

oct. 19 20:55:48 mercure cupsd[1624]: Connecting to <MAC ADDRESS given here>
oct. 19 20:55:48 mercure cupsd[1624]: Connecting to printer.
oct. 19 20:55:48 mercure cupsd[1624]: Connection error: Invalid argument
oct. 19 20:55:48 mercure cupsd[1624]: The printer is not responding.

Then, I have to restart cups daemon and also power off/on my printer and I could print again.

Is there a way to debug the cups service or know what this invalid argument means ? Some could suggest sniffing through wireshark maybe....but I'm not sure if that would help.

Thanks !

I had similar issue with Epson Wi-Fi printer. Haven't managed to fix the issue until I nuked some old PC, installed windows on it, set up printer there, and performed Firmware upgrade on the printer. After that was completed everything was working fine. Unfortunately I still have some issues with it, but at least WiFI printing works without any issues. :-)

@masteroman: Thanks for the hint. Maybe I should try looking at Canon support page.
