Yum/dnf doesn't run, system-python error

asked 2017-11-03 04:36:51 -0500

For some reason, I can't start yum or dnf anymore. All I get is the following error:

/usr/libexec/system-python: symbol lookup error: /usr/libexec/system-python: undefined symbol: _Py_CoerceLegacyLocale

I really don't understand what I could have done that breaks this... Is it possible that conda and/or pip modules are conflicting? And if so, how can I detect this?

Yes, that is the most likely source of the problem. Try clearing out the pip and conda system-wide installed modules until dnf starts working again.
