I updated skype and it has a bug which causes it to trip out. Does any one have a fix for this problem. I have linux mint on another computer I didn't update so it still works.

Can you explain "trip out" section a bit further? What kind of issue are you experiencing exactly?

When you click on it the screen goes away. apper shows an update but it won't load. I logged in as SU

dnf update --enablerepo=updates-testing

It downloaded the program but said it had a checksum error.

dnf config-manager --addrepo=https//repo,

I need a command to add | sudo dnf-key add -

The checksum error happened to me too. I think Microsoft may have changed the GPG keys for their repo, and therefore the updates cannot be installed with 'sudo dnf update'.

I uninstalled skype with 'sudo dnf remove skypeforlinux', downloaded a new RPM from and installed it with 'sudo rpm -i skypeforlinux-64.rpm'.

This fixed the issue for me, the new RPM should configure the most recent repositories automatically.
