Om F26, I am having difficulty understanding the icons when log-off. Can anyone point me to the documentation for a beginner to find my way around.

Guessing you mean the icons in system menu (top right corner).

  • The lock icon is for locking your desktop
  • The pause icon is for suspending your computer (You'll see it after installing an extension or pressing the Alt key)
  • The circle with a top vertical line is for powering off your computer
  • The gears are for opening system preferences

You can log off by clicking on your user and select "Logout"
