I'd like some insight in formatting text files in Fedora? Can find how to do it using "yum" or anything else. Anybody?

Can you please add a few more details? Which kinds of files do you want to edit? Which kind of formatting do you want to do? Is it e.g. .DOCX or .ODT files or do you mean pure text files?

pure text is the common data structure upon which every unix (and hence linux) systems are built. There are plenty of tools for formatting text: sed, awk, sort, tr and so on that one can combine through pipes and shell scripts, and then perl, python or ruby scripts, more specific tools like indent or clang-format for formatting source code or you can format text files interactively with dozens of text editors: vim, gedit, emacs, kate, nano and many more.
