fedora 27 network browsing doesnt't work. Why?

I upgraded my Fedora 26 installation to Fedora 27. I should have done a test run with liveUSB first, because now I can not see any of the computers on my network or see my NAS4FREE server with all my SMB shares.

So, after spending days trying to figure out the issue I put Fedora 26 on a usb and live booted FC26 opened Nautilus up and there are all the servers and shares.

next. I live booted a fresh made FC27 usb and went straight to Nautilus and now nothing. No servers shown in windows network, my network laser isn't showing up, other computers in the network not showing up. NOTHING

So now Im planning on reverting back to Fedora 26. UGH

any thing else i can try before FC27 gets trashed?

Thanks alan

I had the same problem. Ran across bug report concerning firewalled and Samba. "home" zone needs 137/udp port added under the Source Ports in Firewall Configuration. The services do not take care of this issue under "home" zone so you have to addit it in.

You can also change zones of connection to FedoraWorkstation zone and change the default zone to FedoraWorkstation. This will also permit browsing the windows network from linux. Please look at the ports that this opens under the ports tab to see if you are comfortable this zone.

Maybe you are affected by this bug.

According to the Common F27 problems page it may be resolved by removing /var/lib/sss/secrets/secrets.ldb `

This doesn't work for me. Nautilus is unable to browse the network and my file server is ubuntu. I can access my file shares through every other Linux distribution but not fedora 27 workstation. Why?

I have the same problem - I found this error message in my fedora 27 Security log

Kerberos auth with 'blah blah blah' (blah blah blah) to access 'blah blah blah' not possible

the 'blah blah blah' stuff is my workgroup and internal ip address

looks like an issue with Kerberos and Samba

I have the same problem too. I'm able to browse the network (shares) on windows and Ubuntu. But not on a Fedora 27 installation. My shares are located on Fedora 27 Server edition. Already tries a lot. Disabling firewall and Selinux didn't help neither.

I have been reading that unless you use workstation, firewalld will block samba. This is a bug. The recommended fix is to open source port 137/udp

This was the solution for me. Thank you! And it works in home zone. I'm on fedora 27 with mate desktop.

Hello. Same problem here with my fresh F27 (idem with live usb) : nautilus is able to connect to a share (CTRL+L : smb://192.168.1.xxx) but unable to discover the network (smb://workgroup or smb://). Why ? Deleting the file above doesn't work for me.
