Hallo guys,

I am getting transaction check error for the following packages, when I try to update from F26 to 27:

file /usr/bin/pydoc3 conflicts between attempted installs of python34-3.4.5-4.el7.x86_64 and python3-3.6.3-2.fc27.x86_64
file /usr/bin/python3 conflicts between attempted installs of python34-3.4.5-4.el7.x86_64 and python3-3.6.3-2.fc27.x86_64
file /usr/bin/pyvenv conflicts between attempted installs of python34-3.4.5-4.el7.x86_64 and python3-3.6.3-2.fc27.x86_64
file /usr/share/man/man1/python3.1.gz conflicts between attempted installs of python34-3.4.5-4.el7.x86_64 and python3-3.6.3-2.fc27.x86_64
file /usr/lib64/libpython3.so conflicts between attempted installs of python34-libs-3.4.5-4.el7.x86_64 and python3-libs-3.6.3-2.fc27.x86_64

Did anyone had similar issues with python packages?

no, i have another issue ;-) You could try looking if one of the python versions is coming from a repo. And than disable that repo - do the upgrade - and enable it again.

You need to uninstall python34-3.4.5-4.el7.x86_64. It is a Centos or RHEL package and does not belong on a fedora system. You see that by the el7 suffix in the package name.

By the way: I see that fedora 27 does have a python34 i the fedora repository if needed.

Dependency issue with dnf... The problem with EPEL packages

The epel repository should never be enabled on fedora systems.

The EPEL repository contains fedora packages rebuilt for RHEL. These are packages which are not available in the official RHEL but available on fedora.
