Change sound IRQ; DMA; IO Ports

asked 2018-01-10 02:33:40 +0000

So I am running Fedora 27 as a VM with VMware workstation and trying to follow their KB https://www.vmware.com/support/ws3/do... However, that means I have to set

the IRQ to 5 the I/O port to 0x220 the 8-bit DMA to 1 the 16-bit DMA to 7

The output of cat /proc/asound/cards: ENS1371 - Ensoniq AudioPCI Ensoniq AudioPCI ENS1371 at 0x2000, irq 18

cat /proc/ioports doesn't show any ports in use; all devices are 0000-0000

the only thing in cat /proc/dma is 4: cascade

That document is for an extremely old version of vmware. You should not have to do anything with IRQs now.
