Hi, My Laptop is running Fedora 27(Kernel - 4.14.14-300). I have set it to automatic suspend when on battery power after 15 mins. After automatic suspend, I close the lid and when I open it again then the laptop is unresponsive meaning mouse is not working, screen is black(as in powered-off state) and keyboard is also not working. The only option i'm left with is to press the power button which restarts the system and all my open files and data gets deleted. Another issue(which might be related) is that sometimes when i only close the lid(not automatic suspend, the screen is on when i manually close the lid) and open it again, same condition occurs but this situation is rare but happens. I have Dell Inspiron 5559. PLease Help me.

I have almost the exact same problem on a "Dell Inspiron 11 3180." I installed Fedora 27, but I was not able to get it to boot to the USB drive until I reflashed the BIOS with the file

https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04771362M/1/Inspiron_3180_%203185_1.1.0.exe

which was released on the 6th or 7th of February 2018 -- it seemed surprising to me because that was the version supposedly already installed as the laptop is quite new. Perhaps a new BIOS will come out or someone has an alternative BIOS available.

Just because a laptop is new doesn't mean it was new from the factory. It could have been sitting in a stock shelf for months before you got it. I always find that's the case for laptops and motherboards I buy.
