Fedora 27 Workstation incorrectly identifies display

asked 2018-02-11 19:06:09 +0000

I have an LG-27UD88-W display. Fedora 27 Workstation, however, identifies it as a Golstar Ltd 27. I have searched the knowledge base, but found no solution. Your feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

so what is the real problem? except for the wrong device name? is the display working properly?

Because the display is incorrectly identified, the system does not recognize that it is a 4K display.

Goldstar was the former name for LG See wikipedia.

It does not matter so much about the name, but more about the resolution as reported by the EDID protocol..

Run, but you have to fix the perl syntax error by putting a '\' character at the point indicated in the error message.
