I am trying to instal Nvidea quadro P4000 for 3D visualisation on Fedora 26 xfce, by following the steps referred on on the Nvidea´s web site: https://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8... . Question 1: On the chapter 2 of the manual, https://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8... I tried to check the glibc version by doing ls /lib/lib.so* >6, but I get "No such file or directory" Question 2: how can I perform the following steps as requested in ´CHAPTER 4`of the manual https://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...

" Before you begin the installation, exit the X server and terminate all OpenGL applications (note that it is possible that some OpenGL applications persist even after the X server has stopped). You should also set the default run level on your system such that it will boot to a VGA console, and not directly to X." Thank you for the help

  1. It's libc.so*
  2. Hit e when grub menu shows up, move the cursor to the line that begins with linux16 or linuxefi and append 3 at the end
  3. Start booting with Ctrl-X
  4. A textual login prompt will show up. Login as regular user and continue from there.
