My Fedora 27 workstation PC froze, and when I rebooted it said:

Low Disk Space on "home"
The volume "home" has only 0 bytes disk space remaining.
You may free up some space by emptying the trash.

I emptied the trash, and now I want to extend "home".

Here is may failed attempt to extend "home":

  1. boot Fedora live OS from USB (the same live OS I used to install the system)
  2. navigate to "Advanced partition (Blivet)"
  3. right-click on "fedora-home" > Edit > Resize

When I click "Resize", Blivet immediately crashes and the live OS desktop appears.

Here is a screenshot of "Samsung SSD 840" showing plenty of free space: image description

"fedora" 32.82 GiB and "fedora00" 47.83 GiB are on "Samsung SSD 840". Only "fedora" is being used. "fedora00" can be deleted.

Here is a screenshot of the "fedora": image description

I want to extend "fedora-home" from 5 GiB to 20 Gib, but "Resize" crashes.

How to extend "fedora-home"?

I haven't ever used blivet, but as a general guideline i would suggest first of all, make sure your fedora filesystem is unmounted when you try such operations, secondary i would put part (or whole) of that 102.02GiB free space into a new volume group, and then added it to the fedora volume group, creating a bigger logical volume for fedora as a whole.
