Hi everybody My friend gave me an exe Fortran file (fgem.exe). She compiled the source code and execute the file in Linux OS with Fedora 26 and gfortran 8.0.1. I also installed Fedora 26 with gfortran 7.3.1. (seems the latest version for Fedora!!) . When I run ./fgem.exe I got this error /fgem.exe: error while loading shared libraries: libgfortran.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory> When I compile and run a simple code it works with no problem! I searched the Internet but didn't find any helpful text and forum. Any help would be appreciable. Andrea

Fedora 26 and 27 both ship with gcc 7. gcc 8 will be included in F28. I don't know how your friend got it installed in F26 (it is possible but not a straightforward task). Does this program require any fortran feauture only present in gcc 8? Otherwise ask your friend to compile it against gcc 7.
