hi there

i have 2 computer here that i want to link together to synchronise with Unison. Both computer are in the same network or linked with a ethernet cable. I'm able to ping each computer from the other side with access. But if i want to connect via Nautilus and the ssh or dav together with the ip-adress i get a warning like "check of server-key failed". If i use the ssh or dav with the computer-name i get a warning like "unknown server-name"

This linking worked with F26 and F27 (with cable and/or WiFi). What i recognised is, that always with a new system i'm unable to link them and than suddenly after a few days it works, but i don't know why.

What can i do to link them successfully?

update: with activated Data sharing the other computer is shown up in Nautilus. When i click on the symbol a warning pops up "HTTP-Error: Error resolving computer-name franks-imac.local. name or service unknown"

as i wrote before, pinging the other computer is ok, but there seems to be a problem with a connection via telnet image description

thanks in advance Frank

Have you change any settings related to dns or avahi? Try running ping franks-imac.local and see the output. It should work, but in your case it might not work. Also, check the output of systemctl status avahi-daemon and see if there are any errors.

Which flavor of Fedora have you installed? Is it the Workstation edition or something else?

About the other error, check for server-key failed, it might be because of changed ssh host keys if you access a different system with an IP used with another system (can be a new OS in the same hardware). Try sshing to the ip to see what it says.
