On an RHEL 7 system, I am trying to install digikam from the fedora epel package.

I installed epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm and enabled the 'optional' and 'extras' repositories. When I attempt to install digikam (with yum), I get the following:

Error: Package: digikam-4.10.0-6.el7.x86_64 (epel)
           Requires: libgphoto2_port.so.10(LIBGPHOTO2_5_0)(64bit)
           Available: libgphoto2-2.5.2-3.el7.x86_64 (rhel-7-server-rpms)
               libgphoto2_port.so.10(LIBGPHOTO2_5_0)(64bit)
           Available: libgphoto2-2.5.2-5.el7.x86_64 (rhel-7-server-rpms)
               libgphoto2_port.so.10(LIBGPHOTO2_5_0)(64bit)
           Installed: libgphoto2-2.5.15-1.el7.x86_64 (installed)
              ~libgphoto2_port.so.12(LIBGPHOTO2_5_0)(64bit)
Error: Package: digikam-4.10.0-6.el7.x86_64 (epel)
           Requires: libgphoto2_port.so.10()(64bit)
           Available: libgphoto2-2.5.2-3.el7.x86_64 (rhel-7-server-rpms)
               libgphoto2_port.so.10()(64bit)
           Available: libgphoto2-2.5.2-5.el7.x86_64 (rhel-7-server-rpms)
               libgphoto2_port.so.10()(64bit)
           Installed: libgphoto2-2.5.15-1.el7.x86_64 (installed)
              ~libgphoto2_port.so.12()(64bit)

yum offers to enable all repositories and try again -- I answer Y and get the same errors.

It looks like the error listed twice.

I might have a later file than the required libgphoto2_port.so.10:

/usr/lib64/libgphoto2_port.so.12

Which turns out to be a symbolic link. I tried a symbolic link named libgphoto2_port.so.10 pointing to the same thing as the "12" symbolic link, but that did not seem to help.

Any help resolving this dependency would be truly appreciated.

Perhaps the package has been updated -- I was successfully able to install digikam this morning.
