How do I recover LUKS external backup?

I have an external backup drive that is LUKS encrypted, I created this partition with an older version of Fedora (22). I tried to mount the drive with Ubuntu and it decrypted and mounted correctly. I could view the files just fine, but I did NOT copy anything to OR from the drive. I thought I had unmounted cleanly, but maybe something went wrong. It's a brand new drive, I only backed up to it twice (I think, maybe three times). Now I cannot mount the drive in Fedora (or any distro), I get this error;

Error unlocking /dev/sdc1: Failed to activate device: Operation not permitted (udisks-error-quark, 0)

Can anyone help me to recover the drive?
