I am using F28 KDE Spin and was just curious about the fingerprint support in current Linux versions.

After reading some websites, I have understood that i have to install fprintd and fprintd-pam. This packages were already installed, so i followed the instructions in this tutorial . This worked like a charm, but now i have the problem that i can only authenticate with fingerptint, not by password any more.

Also after trying authselect there is no success at all:

$ sudo authselect current
Profile ID: sssd
Enabled features: None
$ sudo authselect enable-feature with-fingerprint
$ sudo authselect apply-changes

gave me fingerprint auth, but no password auth anymore.

Is there a way to get both?
