I have been trying to set different things with gsettings, but nothing ever happens. Always i get they same return message with no effect on the application settings. Today for example i tried to make gnome-calendar to not follow night-light, because it makes the GUI dark themed. Here is what happens:

$ gsettings list-recursively > stt.txt

GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings will not be saved or shared with other applications.

(process:17835): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: unknown schema extension 'd'

I find what i need:

org.gnome.calendar follow-night-light true

I use:

$ gsettings set org.gnome.calendar follow-night-light false
GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings will not be saved or shared with other applications.

Nothing happens, nothing changes. This issue is since Fedora 28.

Afaik gsettings has been deprecated and olne should use dconf and dconf-editor instead.

Actually, gsettings works on dconf information and thus not deprecated. It is easy to guess that gsettings has something to do with gconf, but that is not the case.

Mistyped, should have written gconf and gconfeditor. Still best practice is to use dconf-editor.
