Newbie - Adding RPMFusion not possible on Fedora Rawhide 31

Hi! I just switched from Antergos/Arch (Used it for 2-3 months, before that Ubuntu for 1-2 months, and Windows before that). Overall i could not be happier. Only thing i miss is the AUR, and therefore i try to add RPMFusion as a repo.

But the tutorial on the RPMFusion site (https://rpmfusion.org/Configuration) does not work for me: With the non-shell option: I click on the correct link "RPM Fusion free for Fedora Rawhide", it downloads the file, opens it in GNOME Software center, but then gives this error in German: "Installation error. Not supported."

With the shell install option i copied the command for "Fedora 22 and later:" (An extra command for Rawhide is not mentioned on the page):

sudo dnf install https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/... -E %fedora).noarch.rpm https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfr... -E %fedora).noarch.rpm

[MIRROR] rpmfusion-free-release-31.noarch.rpm: Status code: 404 for https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/...

[FAILED] rpmfusion-free-release-31.noarch.rpm: Status code: 404 for https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/...

Status code: 404 for https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/...

In the GNOME-Software settings where all repos are listed, i see multiple repos with RPMFusion in name. But only for Steam and NVIDIA, not the "normal" RPMFusion.

I hope someone can help me here. Other than that i am even happier than with Arch (and i thought this could not be possible ;) ). Fedora is just a polished diamant.. Amazing!

Thanks to anyone in advance, and please tell me if you need some logs or more information!

Greetings

@TheDarkCorner , Rawhide only have devel repo and these are not the URL for this purpose, If you would like to install rpmfusion for 31 you should follow the guide from -> rpmfusion, just click download, install it and that's all

Rawhide use devel, there is no such thing as Fedora 31, and thus no rpmfusion repo for 31.

Judging by your question, you won’t be happy with rawhide. It will break - and you will have to fix it.

There is no Fedora 30 either in RpmFusion.

Current version is Fedora 29, and Fedora 30 will be available for general use beginning of May. Fedora 31 is just barely started.

As a Newbie I strongly suggest to install Fedora 29 and the associated RpmFustion for version 29.

Mass branch (of RPMFusion) should be done soon, in one or two weeks , ATM rawhide from RPMFusion , use F30 branch as base repos ( as usual ) . And it will be announced on this mailing list .

Contrary to what others have stated Rawhide apparently shows a version if you do cat /etc/fedora-release and also appearing in the grub menu. In my case is indeed 31 also. I had the exact same problem adding the rpmfusion repos. Even after downloading them I couldn't install them via dnf. Just download the rpms, extract them and copy the contents of etc/yum.repos.d/*(inside the extracted directory) to your /etc/yum.repos.d/. Then find the gpg keys inside the pki directory(inside the extracted directories) and add them with rpm --import /path/to/YOUR-RPM-GPG-KEY. Do a dnf update and you are good to go. Thus I managed to install the nvidia packages with no problem whatsoever.

Also here is an excellent article on how to "safely" run Rawhide: https://medium.com/@alex285/setup-gui...

Potential links to the rawhide rpmfusion rpms(my local mirror--but works nonetheless): http://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/rpmfusio... http://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/rpmfusio...

Hope this helps :)

How to safely run rawhide... turning off SELinux. The article is a joke!

rawhide is the future fc31. /etc/fedora-release is the first thing to change to version 31, but the rest for quite a while remains at version 30 level. As time goes on more and more version 31 packages are built and made available in rawhide.

The rawhide version is where more risky changes are made and tested, it it is expected that something brakes once in a while.

I faced the same issue. I manually downloaded the packages and installed them. You can find the packages here: https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/...

That’s the wrong approach because you’re missing out updates.
