Where did the webcam server apps go?

I am pretty sure there used to be a number of webcam applications in the Fedora repository. That included motion which was good for sharing streaming footage of a webcam. Sometimes a user just wants to easily setup a webcam to keep an eye on a pet or something else and then watch from a phone. There were more options than just "motion", which you no longer have a package for. Where did all the apps go?

I remember that motion in the repo was terribly outdated. Probably it got retired.

The last release was February 3rd and the source is there so all someone in the Fedora side would have to do is compile it and package it. I suppose there might be some dependency issues though.

Good to know. Fedora still needs to improve their webcam software selection though.

So start helping improving it. You can become the maintainer of the software you'd like having in Fedora. Remember, you are Fedora.
