Hello everyone. I'm new to fedora and generally into the Linux universe (tried a bit some popular distribs but not that much).

I've got an issue with my graphics on my laptop : my screen resolution is locked at 1024*768. I've got an optimus system : intel hd 4000 + nvidia 540M.

I tried to install bumblebee but it doesn't work.

It appears on my system preferences that the VESA driver is loaded for my hd 4000 instead of the intel driver, and I have no clue about why is that happening.

I didn't install the proprietary nvidia driver because I don't need it for now.

Here is my lspci |grep VGA result

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 540M] (rev a1)

Could someone help me with this please ?

Thank you for your help !

Just for the record, since this an older (but valid) question, here an answer:

Check CPU and video card:

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep "model name"
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3217U CPU @ 1.80GHz
...

lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)

Be sure to have the drivers installed

yum install xorg-x11-drv-intel

I personally have also the libva-intel and GPU tools packages:

yum install intel-gpu-tools libva-intel-driver

After installation, reboot. Then the Intel driver should be used. To verify

grep -i intel /var/log/Xorg.0.log
[    35.014] (**) |   |-->Device "Intel Graphics"
[ 37.970] (II) LoadModule: "intel"
[ 37.971] (II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so
...
[ 38.052] (**) intel(0): Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
[ 38.052] (**) intel(0): Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight"
[ 38.052] (**) intel(0): Option "SwapbuffersWait" "false"
[ 38.052] (**) intel(0): Option "TearFree" "true"
[ 38.052] (--) intel(0): Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
