Hi all, After I updgrade from F17 to F18 with:

su -c 'yum update yum'
su -c 'yum clean all'
su -c 'yum --releasever=18 --disableplugin=presto distro-sync'

and after I rebooted the system I had and error "failed to authorization manager" and the boot stopped with keyboard disabled. After I entered in text mode for changing the grub configuration at bootable time for updating polkit service, becouse did not work, I finded that the net is disabled and after many hours of work I am blocked. Any suggestions would be appreciate.

Thanks Francisco_D for your suggestions. I solved as follows: After booting I noticed that started the gdm.service for managing graphics. I did however start the service kde corresponding kdm.service, which started regularly. After solving network problems I was able to reinstall the package polkit.service without problems. So after changing the runlevel from text to graphic mode the problem has been resolved.

I'm glad. Do follow the wiki to the letter next time. It contains a lot of useful information that prevents such issues.

Did you disable selinux before upgrading as mentioned on this wiki page?

If you didn't, you will need to reinstall quite a few packages. The problem is that there isn't an exact science to ascertaining what packages need to be reinstalled. Go through your yum logs and see what packages gave errors during the install

sudo yum history list #list
sudo yum history info [item number] #Detailed information
