Hi Everyone

I have installed the Gnome Tweak Tool and allowed "Have file manger handle the desktop". The Icons Home and Trash Bin are displayed but I cant create any Shortcuts. Has someone an Idea?

How are you going about creating the shortcuts? Do the files exist in the Desktop folder in Nautilus?

I whanted to it with right click on the desktop to create a shortcut. As far as I remember there should, or was one. And I think I am right now too stupid to get into the Desktop folder in Nautilus.

Gnome 3 doesn't seem to allow any menu method of creating shortcuts, but there are a couple of other ways. From a terminal you can run "gnome-desktop-item-edit ~/Desktop/ --create-new". Or you can use the file manager to go to "/usr/share/applications" and copy an existing shortcut. Then you can right-click and go to the properties to edit it.

Your Desktop folder is in your Home folder in Nautilus.
