Is there a way to work around the kernel panic in the updated kernels in Fedora 19.

The default 3.9.5 kernel is working fine. However the first update installs kernel 3.10.6-200_x64. Reading around people have had some similar issues, following a bug report I found an updated kernel in Koji and so installed 3.10.7-200.

The error occurs again after reboot. it appears to occur because of the brcmsmac broadcom wifi kernel driver.

Searching around and it appears to be not just localised to Fedora, Arch users also experience it

Is it just a matter of waiting for a good kernel to go up?

I just blacklisted the buggy kernels in the /etc/yum.conf file. Stick with the last one which works for now. Here's the line which you can add to the YUM config.

exclude=kernel3.10.6-200.fc19.x86_64 kernel3.10.7-200.fc19.x86_64
