Fedora 19 SD Card not recognized

The sd card on my laptop isn't responding at all. I'm using an Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A running fedora 19. lsusb shows the sd card reader is Realtec RTS5139.

I tried installing rpmfusion, kmod-staging, but modprobe rts5139 doesn't work.

I tried downloading the drivers from Realteks' website but they only post source code and it isn't compiling on my machine. Does anyone have advice for getting the SD card reader to work? Thanks.

Edit Updating the kernel seemed to get me closer to fixing the problem. when running modprobe rts5139 I get an error ERROR: could not insert 'rts5139': Required key not available'. What key is this referring to? I'm having trouble understanding what's going on at this point.

The problem may be in kernel. I have problem with kernels 3.10.(3-6) in mounting USB sticks. Version 3.10.2 was OK, 3.10.7 (I've updated today) is OK either. So try to update you distro and check if problem is remain.

Okay, so I figured out the issue. Polarfish's answer is technically correct(So I marked it as the answer - thanks very much!), upgrading the kernel to 3.10 resolved the SD card issue, but I had ran into a separate problem with the monitor not coming on.

I thought this was an entirely separate issue so I didn't bother to mention it. It turns out it is a known problem (I would link to it but I don't have rights to do so yet) for Asus Zenbooks and the 3.10 kernel. I worked around that, and the SD card drive worked.
