I am using fresh install of F19. The system was installed yesterday and updated today. F18 have behaved correctly.

When I attempt to change a desktop background from the default one the result is just a black, blue or white background depending on a wallpaper chosen. The background is set:

  1. Change it in Settings (menu in upper right corner) -> Background -> click on the picture with current background -> choose new

When the background is changed by the option 2. from the pschindl's answer. Everything works. So it seems that images included in installation are somehow damaged. It is not sure whether it is the problem of Fedora or Gnome.

The hardware is Acer Aspire One ZG5 (Intel 945GSE chipset with the integrated graphics).

How could I change the background or what is to be set or installed to enable displaying the wallpaper correctly?

Hi, which way are you trying to change the background?

There are more ways to do that, try them: 1. Change it in Settings (menu in upper right corner) -> Background -> click on the picture with current background -> choose new. 2. In file manager (Nautilus) -> go to the Folder with desired picture -> right click on it and choose "Set as Wallpaper" 3. In terminal use: $ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri <path to="" the="" picture="">

If some of above don't work, please fill a bug into bugzilla.redhat.com or bugzilla.gnome.org (upstream).

I've had the same problem. Reducing the file size of the wallpaper to be used helped.

@yanglifu90 The problem is probably caused by backgrounds included in installation. See the edited question and the answer. answer
