Is it possible to change the spin while upgrading with FedUp? E.g. to upgrade from the default Fedora 18 Gnome to the Fedora 19 Xfce spin?

You can install any desktop environment - or any other set of packages - at any time. Use yum grouplist -v hidden to list package groups, then install them like yum install @xfce-desktop-environment.

What isn't so easy is getting rid of all the packages from the old desktop environment. There's really no benefit to doing so, and I would suggest just letting them be. If you are short on space or really need to have only one DE installed, I suggest you back up /home and start with a fresh installation. There are a lot of packages and interdependencies in a desktop environment like GNOME, and sorting all that out isn't fun for even very experienced users.

Thanks! I knew it's possible to install any DE via the package groups and then upgrade, I just was looking for a more straightforward way :)
