Apparently, it is already included in the default F18 install.

I went: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01174360&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=2020&product=4110396&sw_lang=

That linked me to http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html?

and they told me that you didn't need any special driver.

have you tried simply adding the printer?

HPlip is installed by default. On my laptop it was enough to show the printer and act as if it tries to print, but didn't succeed in getting anything out though,

After installing this as well it started to work properly: sudo dnf -y install hplip-gui
