I recently upgraded a computer to Fedora 20. Previously I had left a Windows partition on the system but choose to disable secure boot and efi leaving that partition unusable. When I updated, I chose to get the Windows partition working because its user required a couple programs (not too frequently, but once in a blue moon).

When the kernel was updated on the fresh install, it added a new boot option to the bootloader, however booting the new kernel throws an error along the lines of:

alloc magic is broken at 0xe71232231: 0
Aborted. Press any key to exit.

The original boot entry (3.11.10-301.fc20.x86_64 according to uname) still works as well as the Windows boot entry. However, the two new kernel entries throw the error above. Does anyone have an idea what I could try to get the new kernel options to work?

Thanks.

reading is a good idea :) By default, dracut will not overwrite your existing initramfsen. You can move them, or overwrite them as you please
