What are the ways to update Fedora 20 ?

I just installed it and try to open Software but Software screen was almost blank and looks like try to refresh something. Then I typed "sudo yum update" in terminal. Is this a proper way of updating Fedora ? What are the other ways ?

I usually do : to login as sudo

su -

then :

yum update

but I think right now is not a good moment to do updates there is a bug. as far as i read to solve it you should do this:

su -
    setenforce 0
    yum clean expire-cache
    yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update selinux-policy\*
    setenforce 1

Please ensure that this installs this version of the package: selinux-policy-3.12.1-117.fc20.noarch

but i'm still waiting 'till they say everything is solved. :)

ps. if you want to learn how to use yum just type in the console

man yum

actually anything you want to know type man before the name of the package

So shouldn't I update at the moment ? I updated with "sudo yum update" command already.

the new method (for Fedora) requires the command: fedup

Lol, I think I misread the thread. "Fedup" looks for a kernel version update; which I was doing right before I posted. There is an "Updater broken" thread which has more advice on how to troubleshoot errors in updating the exsisting kernel.

Fedup is for a Fedora version update, e.g. F19 to F20. This is not the same thing as a kernel update (though it may involve a kernel update as well). Kernel updates are handled by yum as with any other package.

As I understand it, fedup basically updates you to the next version of Fedora. It's kind of similar to apt-get upgrade for some of the Debian variants but a bit smoother.
